Snakes on a playground

right, so, i like love nature and stuff and think it's really neat how the little buggers have made their nests or whatever and stockpiled some food...they just can't do it on the toddler playground. and the poor bug guy did not sound happy when i told him. the first time i talked to him, he tried to tell me that it was some kind of ground dwelling insect. ok. then erin went outside to take a picture and saw a bug fly into one of the holes and the snake ate it. i was torn between "aha! i was right!" and "did you get a picture??" cos that would have been a neato picture. so i called john back and gave him that update...back to unhappy sounding bug guy. but really, poor snakes :(

this morning i went to panera for breakfast (yum) and i am oh so glad that i did. the lady in front of me paid with cash and asked the cashier if her twenty dollar bill was ok. she said, "i got this from the atm this morning, but it looks like counterfeit to me..." and she kinda shrugged. the cashier looked at it and said, "no, it's fine...it's just older. see? it says 2003 on it and that was before they went to the bigger presidents."

wow...just w.o.w.

i used my card...like everyone in this century.

wall-e was good, in a disturbing sort of way. and of course i cried...weirdo.

the joys of motherhood

on my list of things to occupy my time while the girls are gone was to get some books for kaely.

not that i am going to slam her with this as soon as she gets home, but i wanted to be prepared because the questions are coming. the last time she asked a question, i was so thankful that her sisters started fighting at the same time. i am also thankful that i have girls and not boys. i decided that at the bookstore while looking at the books for boys.

pray for guidance :)

That's a big boot!

Everything *is* bigger in Texas :)

right, so after church, we went to target and got stuffs for our expedition to the river. it occurred to me while we were headed there, that there would be nature in the river...that the river was, in fact, entirely made up of nature. liz asked if i still wanted to go and i said yes...i'm not a wimp.

gorgeous day for a 4 hour float down a nature-y river. there were some directions, but liz and i were like, whut? so we climbed in and floated off.

oh...um, are those little rapids up there?

were we supposed to go right or left? i went left and got stuck...i love nature!

it was really relaxing, except for the nature attacks. liz was floating a little ahead of me and jumped or squealed (i don't remember) cos she saw something. with cat like reflexes, i reacted!this picture is a dramatization...no nature was harmed in the float down the river.
